RSS Hosting French/Creole Language Training

Participants of the French/Creole Language Training Programme, currently being hosted by the Regional Security System’s Training Institute, are demonstrating strong dedication and enthusiasm to the course.
This comes from Course Facilitator, Chloé Gaillard of The Alliance Française de Bridgetown, who noted that while many of the participants began with limited experience, significant progress has already been made in both spoken and written French, creating a highly motivated and collaborative classroom environment.
“A recent mock exam showed that most learners have now reached A1 level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Mid-programme feedback has also been overwhelmingly positive, with participants praising the quality of instruction and expressing a desire for an extended version of the course,” she disclosed.
In response to varying learning speeds, Ms. Gaillard pointed out that the 16-member class would soon be divided into beginner and advanced groups, ensuring more personalised instruction and continued progress for all.
She noted that: “This adjustment aligns with the programme’s long-term vision to prepare participants to become future French teachers in their home countries. The team remains committed to guiding all learners toward achieving B1 level proficiency, supporting both their personal growth and future professional impact.”
The two-month course, which is jointly coordinated by the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) and The Alliance Française of Bridgetown, will conclude on Monday, June 30, 2025.
