RSS Overthrows Security Forces In T-10 Cricket Match

Organiser of the RSS 40th Anniversary T-10 Cricket Tournament, Sgt. Dawn Sealy, with members of the winning RSS team.
In commemoration of its 40th anniversary, the Regional Security System Headquarters (RSS HQ) hosted a friendly T-10 tape-ball Cricket tournament at the Weymouth Police Sports Complex on Wednesday, October 26.
The participating teams were from the Barbados Police Service, the Barbados Prison Service, the Barbados Defence Force and the RSS combined team.
The first match saw the Barbados Police Service and the Barbados Prison Service square off, with the Barbados Police Service getting the better of their opponents, securing their position in the finals. The second match was between the Barbados Defence Force and the RSS Team with the RSS Team emerging victorious. The Barbados Defence Force faced the Barbados Prison Service for the third-place position with the Barbados Prison Service securing the win in that match.
The finals between the Barbados Police Service and the RSS Team proved to be a nail biting, adrenaline filled match-up, with the RSS Team scoring 48 runs for seven wickets at the end of their 10 overs. The Barbados Police Service began the innings with a good start but despite only having to make 49 runs, the RSS Team had their eyes on the prize, and denied the Police a victory by restricting them to 48 runs for six wickets, thus drawing the match.
This triggered a Super Over, where the Barbados Police Service scored 10 runs in their over. The RSS Team had a shaky start losing a wicket with the first ball of the over, but they came back strong with two consecutive sixes in the next two balls, and sent the crowd wild. The RSS Team emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle securing both the Challenge Trophy and the Man of the Match award, which went to Nickozi St. Hillaire of the Royal Grenada Police Force.
The competition was organised by Sargeant Dawn Sealy of the RSS.
